  • Objectives:-
  • 1. Component 1: Improving Learning Conditions at the Nursery level (US$1.8 million).
  • 2 Component 2: Promoting Technology-Assisted Learning at the Primary level (US$3.8 million).
  • 3. Component 3: Strengthening Institutional Capacity and Project Management (US$1.1 million).
  • Prepare budget for the entire life of the Project, based on the Project procurement plan, in which annual budget will be derived;
  • Prepare semiannually Interim Financial Report (IFR) to be submitted to the World Bank;
  • Prepare withdraw application for the Project;
  • Preparation and execution of daily journal and ledger entries;
  • Ensuring that all accounting records and bank account information is up-to-date in the automated system;
  • Maintain adequate records and accounts to support daily program transactions;
  • Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliation for all Bank Accounts (Special Account, Program Account, etc.) on a timely basis;
  • Submit monthly Bank Reconciliations for Program Account to the Treasury for the maintenance of the Government’s accounting records and General Ledger;
  • Prepare the Program’s Budgets/Cash Flow Projections;
  • Monitor Program compliance with the Government’s Accounting reporting requirements;
  • Consolidate the Monthly Semi-annually and Annual Financial Statements; selecting accounting policies and accounting standards; determining the need, if any, to include any supplementary notes to the Program’s Financial Statements in order to enhance the presentation of a “true and fair view”;
  • Prepare Semi-annually and Annual Program Financial Statements, as well as reporting within an agreed time frame.

  • 1. Improve teaching practices & student achievement in mathematics at the primary level in selected schools (5.36 Million)
  • 2. Strengthen the teaching capacity & improve the learning environment of UG FHS (6.91 Million)
  • 3. Project Implementation Support (1.06 Million)

GUYANA EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (G.E.C.E.P)
  • Objectives:-
  • 1. Improve teaching practices & student achievement in mathematics at the primary level in selected schools
  • 2. Strengthen the teaching capacity & improve the learning environment of the University of Guyana Faculty of Health Science (FHS).

FINANCE ASSISTANT

GLOBAL PARTNER FOR EDUCATION (GPE)
  • Preparation & execution of daily journal & Ledger entries.
  • Ensuring that all accounting record & bank account information is up –to-date in the QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Maintenance of adequate records & accounts to support daily Project transactions.
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts (designated account, Project account, etc.) on a timely basis.
  • Submit monthly Bank reconciliations for Project account to the treasury for the maintenance of the Government’s accounting records & general ledger.

  • Monitor Project compliance with the Government’s accounting reporting requirements.
  • Consolidate the monthly, quarterly & annual financial statements, selecting accounting policies & accounting standards as well as determining the need, if any, to include any supplementary notes to the project’s financial statements in order to enhance the presentation of a “true & fair view”.
  • Prepared quarterly & annual Project financial statements as well as reporting on material variances, recommending remedial action, as appropriate, within an agreed time frame.
  • Prepare quarterly Project Interim Unaudited Financial Reports (IFRs), taking into consideration the procedures of the World bank , which call upon the elaboration of:
  • 1. Financial Statements
  • 2. Project progress report
  • 3. Procurement management (including goods, works & services)
  • Prepare annual Project financial statements schedules and make available all information required to prepare the annual audit report by deadline established by IDA.
